I heard Relay For Life is going to be virtual this year, is that true?

Yes. We will be virtual again this year. We will continue to make sure that people can still Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back

How will a Virtual Relay For Life work?

We're going to light up social media with photos sent in by our teams & survivors and instead of our usual Candle of Hope ceremony, which is a very special part of Relay, we will have a 'Hope from Home' ceremony at 10pm where you are asked to light up your candle bags at home and share pictures with us

Can I register a new team if I had not done so already?

Yes, we'd love to welcome new teams this year. Email us for further information via relayforlifewexford@gmail.com 

How can I participate?

If restrictions permit we suggest having mini Relays, while adhering to social distancing, from your own homes, communities or workplaces and joining in the Hope from Home ceremony by lighting your candle bags

What can I expect from a virtual event?

You can wear your Relay t-shirt, set up camp in the garden, on the street, or anywhere that is safe and within the government guidelines, follow our event on Facebook from around 7pm on Saturday night, making sure to keep up social distancing!

What about candle bags?

Candle bags are available to purchase on our website and will be posted out to you. Make sure and order in plenty of time to get them delivered and give yourself time to get them decorated before our event

What is the Registration Fee?

€10 per participant

If I register a team - how many team members do I need to have?

Under normal circumstances we would recommend no less than 10 team members to ensure you can adequately cover the 24 hours and also to help you achieve your team fundraising goal but given that our event is a virtual one this year there is no limit so from 1 member upwards!

How can I fundraise?

Each participant will be able to get started with their online fundraising by sharing the link with family & friends who'd like to support you

Will the registration Fee get added to my fundraising?

Yes.

I registered and forgot my password, how can I get back in?

Click on 'Login' in the navigation menu to see the login options pop up. Click on 'forgot password' where you will be prompted to enter the email address that you registered with. An email with a link to reset your password will then be sent to that email address.

Is the fundraising goal for teams or individuals?

We have set a goal of €1000 per team or €100 per team member, but all funds raised will go to the overall Relay for Life Wexford fundraising total so don't worry every donation counts to our overall goal

Can I do offline fundraising?

Yes you can. While we'd encourage that we remain cashless during these COVID-19 restrictions, if someone gives you cash you can contact your team captain for next steps on how to get the funds raised included in your teams goal.

How can I donate?

While you are welcome to donate to Wexford's Virtual Relay For Life directly, why not support one of our teams to help them reach their fundraising goal.

What will my donation support?

Your donation will help raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society who support Cancer patients and their families at what can be a very difficult time in their lives.

What is the cut off date for purchasing candle bags online?

Locally, Wednesday 30 June to allow postage.

What is the cut off date for donations to be made online?

Wednesday 1st September.
